Project Scoping

A scoping document forces clarity on what is actually required and becomes a formal record for deadline negotiations. Aggressive requirement reduction during scoping is triage to protect delivery of what matters most, not scope cutting for its own sake. The first and most important step when handed an unrealistic deadline is to ask thorough questions and document every answer in writing. Asking about things the deadline-setter did not consider turns uncovered gaps into objective evidence that the original estimate lacked full information.
