Regular monitoring and query profiling allows bottlenecks to be identified and resolved before they escalate to outages. Without monitoring, performance problems cannot be diagnosed until they have already escalated to incidents. Monitoring reveals which servers are overloaded, which queries are responsible, and what the root cause is.
